ANNUAL REPORT 2019
Bilal Community and Family Centre collaborates with different organizations to deliver some social programs including indigenous organizations to build bridges among communities for the greater good of our communities. Board of directors works closely with BCFC executive team to ensure that the need of the community is met to the best of our ability.
The most inspiring part of BCFC work is empowering people particularly youth to believe in their talents, recognize their strengths and pursue their passion. As someone who left his family in early age for education, and struggled, I can relate to some of the challenges that youth are going through. I thank BCFC leadership team, Kadar, Sultan, Board of Directors, our employees, volunteers, and our community members for making it possible.
Most of our employees are youth who primarily belong to lower income families living in downtown Winnipeg with less employment opportunities. Thus, our programs play a vital role in helping youth become thriving and productive citizens of the community. It also provides a sense of belonging and community which prevents youth from falling into negative relationships and friendships.
